A quiet month except for a rather exciting announcement!  Typically, we take a breath during January and February as we recover from all the excitement that Advent & Christmas brought.  We still managed to fit in the Chalking of the Doors (with the rain easing at the key moment!) and filling the church with candles for Candlemas, and usually, we then move into focusing on all things Easter.

HOWEVER, we also have a very exciting announcement!  At the end of June, we’re going to be joined by Carol, our new Curate!  A Curate is a Vicar in training – it’s the last stage of a long process of discernment, training and experience.  Carol will be with us for three years, and writes “I was a lawyer for nearly 30

years when I finally responded to God’s nagging voice and began the path to ordination.  Having been at theological college, and having worked in the parish of Timperley as an Ordinand, I will now be I’m looking forward to starting my curacy at St George’s, thereafter, getting to know everyone and getting involved with everything. I was married to Fred for 25 years, before he passed away, and I now live with our son, Ben (and a mad dog, Ike,) in Timperley.” So please do pray for Carol as she gets ready for the adventure that is St Georges!
