April was an interesting month here at St George’s: we’ve had our fair share of irritating chest infections doing the rounds, but we soldiered on—and we’re so glad we did. It turned out to be a truly fantastic term!

Our Toddler Group, Tots & Tales, shifted back to a 9:15am start, and it’s been a big hit with our families. Meanwhile, our Knit and Natter

crew continues to cope (!) with Rev. Claire’s ever-surprising stream of creative ideas. After a flurry of Easter-themed knitting, they’re now working on this year’s free Advent gift—and here’s a little teaser: it’s homemade, but this time it’s not knitted! Intrigued? Watch this space.

Our choirs are absolutely thriving—so much so that their joyful laughter and excited chatter on Sunday mornings often float through the church. Over in our language groups, the French conversation group keeps growing steadily, and there’s buzz about a German group starting up soon too.

At the vicarage and church, we’re proud to continue hosting ESOL classes (English lessons) for the men staying at Cresta Court. It’s been a real privilege getting to know them and sharing in their learning journey.

And then came Holy Week—a true highlight. Palm Sunday remains a firm favourite for Rev. Claire and Russell (our fantastic Musical Director and Organist). How could it not be? We had a brilliant donkey, excited children, and a joyful parade around the church— we even had a passerby take some photos!  Each year it grows, and each year it brings even more joy. The week that followed offered moments of quiet reflection and sacred tradition through Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Eve—deeply moving and meaningful.
