Good Friday: Three Hours at the Cross

What does success really mean?

For many of us around Altrincham, life can feel full of pressure — work, family, expectations, ambition, and the constant sense that we should be doing more.

This Good Friday, we’d love to invite you to something different.

Our Three Hours at the Cross offers a calm, welcoming space for reflection, prayer, silence, and thoughtful conversation around one simple but powerful question:

“What does success look like on Good Friday?”

This year’s speaker is The Revd Canon Dr Michael Leyden, Dean of Emmanuel Theological College, who will help us explore how the events of Good Friday challenge our usual ideas of success, strength, and achievement.

It’s a moving and deeply relevant reflection on leadership, love, sacrifice, and what really matters.

Whether you attend church every week, once a year, or have never stepped inside one, this is a thoughtful and welcoming space to reflect on life’s deeper questions; please come along.

Stay for the full three hours or just join for a short while — all are genuinely welcome.
