Could there be a young singer in your house?
Alty Trebles is back for a new term, with our wonderful new Director, Tessa Tang, at the helm!
Alty Trebles is about much more than simply singing songs. It’s a chance for primary-aged children to receive FREE musical education which on top of learning a lifelong skill of being able to read music and sing well it also will enable our young children to:
*Grow in confidence
*Develop real musical skills
*Make friends and being part of a team
*Learn to perform in front of others
And have plenty of fun along the way!
Tessa brings fantastic musical experience alongside a real passion for helping young singers develop their voices and discover what they’re capable of.
There are no auditions, and children don’t need any previous musical experience; just a willingness to come along and give it a go.
And because we believe opportunities like this should be available to everyone, and with significant thanks to funding from the National Lottery Community Fund, Alty Trebles is completely FREE.
If you have a child who loves to sing, whether that’s confidently on a stage or currently just around the house, why not let them give it a try?
The Choir of St George’s

Singing: Sundays 9.30am
Music is at the heart of our worship, and our choir sings at every Sunday service as well as at all the great festivals of the Church year.
We’re a friendly and supportive group who love singing together and offering our music to enrich the worship of the church. Whether you’re an experienced chorister or simply someone who enjoys singing and would like to grow in confidence, you would be very welcome.

We're currently recruiting for one role:
Organist
(£2,000 per annum)
We're seeking a skilled organist who enjoys accompanying congregational worship and working as part of a team. You'll play for our weekly Parish Eucharist and major festivals, work alongside our choir, and help create worship that is both beautiful and prayerful.

Tessa Tang: Community Music Favilitator & Director of St George's Choir
Tessa Tang is a Singaporean soprano and graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music, where she trained as a classical singer and was also chosen as an RNCM Digital Ambassador.
An experienced performer, Tessa has appeared on BBC Radio 3 and performed in opera, concerts and recitals in the UK and internationally, with repertoire ranging from Mozart to contemporary opera.
Alongside performing, Tessa is a trained teacher and has a real passion for music education and helping young singers develop their voices, musicianship and confidence. As Director of Alty Trebles, she brings professional musical expertise together with warmth, energy and a belief that high-quality music education should be both accessible and great fun.
