Epiphany Chalking the Doors
On Sunday 4th January, 9.30am service, we'll be 'chalking the doors' - otherwise known as the 'Epiphany Blessing'. This annual practice originated in Germany, and is a way of us asking for God's blessings on our homes for the year ahead, and also reminding us to make our homes a place of welcome and blessing to others.
So if you've never heard of it before, why not come along and see how it's done?!
Candlemass
Candlemass – Christ our Light 🕯️
On Sunday 2nd February we celebrate Candlemass, the feast of the Presentation of Christ in the Temple. On this day we remember Simeon’s words as he recognises Jesus as “a light to lighten the nations”.
Come and be part of it as we gather to bless candles, sing familiar hymns, and give thanks for the light of Christ that shines in our lives — in joy and in darkness alike. All are very welcome.
“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it.” ✨
Messy Café
Messy Café returns again in Feb — and you’re invited!
Pop in anytime for a fun, relaxed space filled with creativity, chatter, and plenty of cake! Whether you love crafts, colouring, or just a good cuppa and a catch-up, there’s something for everyone.
It’s perfect for families, friends, and anyone who doesn’t mind a little mess and a lot of laughter. No need to book — just come along and join the fun!
Guest Speaker
Each January, we invite a guest speaker to share with us the work they’re doing and how we might support it.
This year, we’re delighted to welcome Zoe Abernethy from Christian Aid, who will be speaking about the charity’s vital work and how they’re responding to an ever-changing global landscape.
It promises to be a thoughtful and inspiring opportunity to learn more about the challenges faced around the world — and how we can play a part in making a difference.
