What a wonderful Advent season, from over 300 knitted figures handed out to an excited Parish, to a packed Christmas Fayre in partnership with
Altrincham CE Primary School PTA. The Advent Trail where we collaborated with Altrincham Baptist Church had a complete overhaul, and looked fantastic. Pupils from the school contributed with their art work, and it created quite a lovely buzz for everyone.
We then partnered with the ever-impressive Altrincham BID for the Nativity Journey where, alongside The Garrick Theare, people were able to meet the Nativity Characters, culminating with a performance at the end. Footfall in the town centre was up, and a few of our congregation became poster people for it all!
There was the fun of a Pop -Up Nativity and Children’s Party, complete with another real life donkey, and Janice’s ever impressive costumes. We even got some adult actors in there as well! Dee & Nick led one of the best parties ever, with Helen Stant heading up the kitchen with Alex and a wonderful group of helpers. Rev. Claire was particularly taken with the non-alcoholic mulled wine!
With a bit of space to draw breath, we then flew into our Carols By Candlelight. This traditional service goes from strength to strength with a really impressive show case of high-quality music, readings and carols. Particular thanks go to our choir, which, led by Russell, sounds incredible and was a joy to listen too. Thanks also need to go to Aidan McCusker not only for his solos, but also for his direction of the Children’s Choir who should be incredibly proud of their performance and the way that they managed to
be so good for such a big service. We also welcomed back Ted Moorhouse on the trumpet who was as superb as ever.
