Full of food, gifts, games and some fabulous live music all within our wonderful church! Months of planning had gone into this community event, and it didn’t disappoint!
It was a real privilege to join with the deeply impressive PTA of Altrincham Primary School as we held our first Christmas Fair. We were thrilled to have a whole variety of stall holders – from Jewellery to bags, scented candles, miniatures, knitted gifts, food and much more besides. Added to that were some traditional family favourites – tombola’s, games, food, drink and of course, a very popular Santa’s grotto complete with some elves!
On top of this, we privileged to be joined by a variety of musicians and local pupils. Sale Grammar School Brass Band got us started with two sets of Christmas Music – there are some very talented young musicians there and we are really excited to see where their love for music takes them. Altrincham Primary School did themselves proud with a first ever Dance performance (we loved it so much that they did it twice!) and then their pop-up choir did some Christmas songs (all done with a cappella – no mean feat!). Finally, the talented Garrick Theatre Choir did a thirty minute set – we were spoiled with such honed talent and professionalism as the church acoustics took their voices out across the whole building – we left with our spines tingling!
The raffle was extraordinary and huge thanks to so many local businesses that were so generous with their produce and services – it really did prove that the local community is alive and thriving.
It was a lot of hard work in the run up, but worth every moment. Look out for our Christmas Fair in 2024 – we already have some more ideas brewing!
